Rapa Kiwi Boulder on ul. Spółdzielców in os. Na Kozłówce may seem an ordinary grey stone, but it is one of two monuments of an inanimate nature in Kraków. Little wonder: it is a glacial erratic boulder that is 1.5 billion years old, and was transported here by a glacier around 400,000 years ago. The stone and its strange name come from Finland, quite likely from the Aland Islands in the Baltic Sea. The Rapa Kiwi rock is of great interest to geologists, both for its mysterious origin and complex structure.
